Some of the review complaints talk about appointments being canceled, dental assistants trying to upsell dental procedures, and a disorganized front office.
When it comes to services, West Covina Dental Group provides emergency dental services, crowns, fillings, root canals, orthodontics, and many other general dentistry services. X-rays, checkups, cleanings, etc. West Covina Dental Group has several dentists on staff as well as an oral surgeon, an orthodontist, and an endodontist.
Western Dental & Orthodontics
Western Dental & Orthodontics is another West Covina Dentist Office located on Francisquito Avenue. However, they’re not a locally-based operation. Western Dental is a dental corporation with offices in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas. In fact, Western Dental is one of the largest dental service providers in the United States.
In 1997 the Los Angeles Times published an article regarding accusations by the State of California that Western Dental was providing “shoddy and dangerous” dental services to its patients. Western Dental has been accused of being a “low-quality dental mill” and that the corporation was instructing their dentists to over-treat patients to maximize profits. In fact, the LA Times reported that Federal Agents raided two Western Dental clinics. In 1996 Western Dental was forced to pay $1.2 million dollars for “consistent disregard for quality of care and patient health.”
Choice Dental Center
Choice Dental Center is a West Covina Dentist Office located on Glendora Ave. This is one of the most poorly-reviewed dentists in West Covina. Choice Dental has some of the worst reviews we have seen to date with only 2.3 stars on Google and 2.5 stars on Yelp. A majority of the reviews states that this office seriously overcharges for their dental services. The reviews on Yelp have a few horror stories about the dentists just drilling teeth and not explaining why, and when they do discover cavities that the dentist drills too deep and exposes nerves causing extreme pain. In the words of Sonic the Hedgehog, “that’s no good!”
Dentist of West Covina
Another West Covina dentist’s office is called… Dentist of West Covina. This is where visions of emoji faces begin to dance in my head. Ones expressing a lack of amusement. Currently, I’m picturing the one making a confused or confounded face. I think you get the idea.
However, they’re actually a well-respected West Covina dental clinic. Outside of their completely uninspiring name, this office has perfect reviews on Google and Yelp. This office offers nearly all of the general and family dentistry services as well as dental implants. There are two dentists operating out of Dentist of West Covina, a Dr. Omid and a Dr. Hamid. Dr. Omid is a graduate of USC and states that he has trained with some of the finest dentists from all around the world while Dr. Hamid received his orthodontic education from the Harvard School of Dental medicine.
